The ContactGPS is a "research and development" activity of Médias-pro, the media department of the Reformed Churches in French-speaking Switzerland. Since its beginnings in 2007, the creation of the GPS has grown in relation to the number of sponsors and partners. The reason for this is fundamental: the expertise needed to create a ContactGPS is often due to a number people who don't all work for Médias-pro. Whether for the conception of the compass or the creation of the map, specific knowledge is required.
Historically, the first partners were the Protestant Church of Geneva (The Calvin Neuron Factor and The Sport of Reading) and the Faculty of Protestant Theology of the University of Geneva. Over the years, others have been added, such as the World Association for Christian Communication (WACC), the World Council of Churches (WCC), the Reformed Church of the Canton of Vaud (EERV), the Protestant Church in Switzerland (PCS), parishes and other churches. More recently, in 2020, the Dominique Barthélémy Institute joined us for the creation of a series of ten GPS on the theme of the Bible (BiblusGPS), called "The Bible in times of crisis".
As individuals or institutions, our partners are involved in different ways. Sometimes it'll be in the form of financial support, often, they will bring their expertise on the subject for the creation of the GPS, and regularly, they will promote a version by including it in their activities. In 2021, the PCS even adopted a project created with the ContactGPS... and then developed their own version, lighter in its form, but more ambitious in its graphics.
